Project Spotlight

San Diego State University Research Foundation,
San Diego, CA

Project Overview: The SDSU Research Foundation acquired two buildings near the SDSU campus and inadvertently acquired city code violations as well. The buildings were housing a fraternity, which they weren’t zoned for, and had undergone many repairs and improvements throughout the years, that hadn’t been permitted. Working with the city, it was decided the buildings would be gutted and rebuilt as office space.

SMART Services: Code research to meet local Neighborhood Code Compliance and Development Services requirements in addition to state building codes, space planning and site planning to improve ADA accessibility, construction document procurement, and permit expediting.
